    Talking Primrose BARGAINS!!!!

I just shared this over in homestead gardens in the perennial section [ame="http://www.homesteadgarden.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1350"]Nice bargain on primroses and a PRIMROSE POINTER - Homestead Garden Forums[/ame] but thought I'd give everyone here a heads up on a SUPER GARDEN BARGAIN that you might also be able to take advantage of!

Primroses are hardy little perennials that often come out cheap and cheerful in the spring. Most people don't realize they can be planted in the garden and come back year after year!

Yesterday I was out at Home Depot and spent 6$ and some tax on primroses that they were clearing out, 50 cents each.

My 12 new primroses are now sitting on 2 of my aluminum jelly roll/cookie sheet pans, I watered them and sat them under the halogen lights over the stove raised up on some soup cans to get a good bright light like a grow light for them.

They are a little battered, and they haven't had good light or water for a bit, but I'm sure I can revive them.

My plans are to plant them in the garden in a few weeks. They are fully hardy perennials and they will add to my shady boggy bits.

Felt great to pick up such a bargain.

Consider this a heads up if your grocery store or hardware store is getting rid of a bunch of primroses in pots as the primrose season is ending at the stores.

If you can grow primroses, normally in your area, then you can grow these. This is a cheap way to build up your stash of colourful little shade loving spring flowering perennials.
