Question What do you do with your little bits of soap?

I have read some people cram their little bits of soap under their bigger bits of soap or some people save them all together to make one bigger soap. What do you do with your little bits of soap? And how do you do it?

I do the above. Just later up your new bar of soap and sqish the smaller bit left to it. Works great!!!

I put my soap bits in a mesh bag (like a small produce bag) then tie that to an outside faucet. My faucets are high off the ground so you could also hang the soap somewhere near the end of the hose. It's great for washing up before going into the house.

As for forming new bars of soap, you can put the soap bits into a mold (an ice cube tray works well but don't plan on using it for anything else) and add a little bit of water. The soap will "melt" into the water then firm up. If the soap bits are big, try chopping them up to make smaller pieces or flakes first.

You can also add a little bit more water to the small soap bits, let them soften then whip with a power mixer to make a more consistent batch. You can form that mixture in a mold or, if you added some new soap like Ivory soap flakes, you can shape it by hand into "snowballs".

I use glyserin and special bars in a bath and body bag I got as a gift.... The regular stuff I use to make laundry soap.

I just put together a small basket for gardening. I was thinking maybe i might make a small crochet baggie thing and make it have a pull string closure. then from there I was thinking I could drop little pieces in that and close it tight. Then after gardening, when i am done, i can use that to scrub my hands...

I use it until it is too small to comfortably handle, then I get out a new bar and use that once, and at the end of that shower, I stick to old piece of soap to the new bar, and it seals like magic. The next day you have a bar of soap with a piece of the old stuck to it, and that way I use up every last bit without any trouble.

The key is to let the 2 bars set for awhile, preferably overnite to let them set

I keep a toilet brush/container beside each toilet. I put the soap slivers in water with the brush. Seems like less chemicals to use, plus the brush is ready to go whenever the toilet needs a quick clean!
