Default Say NO to pricey drinks

From an email list I'm on-- yet another reason to track your spending.

    SAY NO TO PRICEY DRINKS!

When we think of eating out, we obviously
think about eating a delicious meal. We
don't often think of all the beverages
we may purchase in a typical week. But, look
at how much a week's worth of drinks could be
    costing you...

    Monday - $2.00 coffee
    - $1.50 soda

    Tuesday - $3.00 specialty coffee
    - $1.50 bottled water

    Wednesday - $2.00 coffee

    Thursday - $1.50 bottled water
    - $2.00 iced tea

Friday - $4.00 large iced coffee drink

    WEEKLY TOTAL = $17.50

And that's not even including the weekend! That's
a whopping $70.00 or more a month, just for
beverages you won't even remember drinking.

    Instead...
Use a refillable water bottle and tote that with
you everywhere you go. Water is healthy and cheap,
especially when you're not buying it everyday.
Use a travel coffee mug and fill it with homemade
    coffee, tea or hot cocoa.
And this summer, you can easily make homemade
iced tea or else iced coffee drinks
with ice, coffee syrup, a bit of chocolate syrup
    and milk.

Bank that extra money and at the end of a year
you could be looking at $500+ saved! Just by
    cutting back on pricey beverages.

Amazing how quickly those pricey drinks add up. We always order water at restaurants and only get the .25 sodas fromt he machines when we go shopping. I usually have water bottles ready to go where ever we go.

It sure adds up quickly, I've been making tea at home in the mornings instead of buying it and I always carry my water bottle with me wherever I go. I can see the extra $$ at the end of the week

I got a deal on soda (4-12 packs for $7.00). This is lasting us a long time when we add cold water and iced tea to the picture!

We love to freeze a water bottle half full of water and then add the remaining half just as we're dashing out. We have cold water for most of the day by doing that when it's hot, we especially enjoy that.

I'm all for ordering water and carrying it along. And I've recently started making my iced coffee everyday in order to resist the $3 per cup stuff I love at a local drive-through.

But I also have to confess, fountain soda is one of my favorite treats- sometimes I enjoy it more than the meal itself, LOL! So I will continue to make my coffee and tea at home and carry water when I can... but I have to have my fountain sodas!

I really love iced water so I don't feel deprived when I bring it from home and drink it. On the other hand DH hates drinking water but will drink his weight in iced tea or sodas. We usually go through 1/2 gallon of iced tea in the summer for just the 2 of us. I usually try to bring an insulated cup with me when I am out shopping or running errands and I have my water in that. When I am at work I just keep a large cup of ice water with me everyday and I drink that. It helps keep me full and I don't want to snack or eat a big lunch.
