Does anyone NOT budget??
I find budgets difficult to stick too. What I do is spend as little as possible on groceries, keep the utilities low and dh and I get an allowance. I have a set amount DDed into a savings acct every payday and I just end up with extra in the checking acct. Does anyone else NOT set an active budget??

I don't set one. I do the same as you - try to spend as little as possible in each category.

I don't budget either, I know what my monthly bills are, and I try to spend as little as possible on groceries (this month I'm going to try for $125) and whatever is left over goes into savings.

I budget to the penny-- if I don't plan where my money is to go before I get it. . . . it's gone on it's own and then I don't the money to pay the bills or put toward savings.

Guilty here too. I have tried and tried to do a budget. Everytime I do the car breaks or something major happens. I have found it in our best interest to try to not do this and bad luck always follows.

We don't budget, either! But, we are careful with our spending.

I'm not good at budgeting either. I just try to monitor my spending pretty close. Especially since my funds are so low right now.

We have never really had a budget in the 19 years we have been married and so far so good.......we are very careful about where we spend the money and on what and we do make sure to put money away each month!

I have to at least try to do a budget.. Even if I skew from it a little, I know that at least I have enough to pay the minimum.

Funny you should mention that awful word. Sometimes I wish I did. Dd's housing deposit for school just came in, $250 out of the savings. Had I budgeted..... things could have been different.
In all honesty I did budget when we had to. But now like the others I pretty much know what to expect every month. I keep a set amount of savings for things like car repairs, washers blowing up, natrual disasters, vacations and college surprises. I plan on using this money (and usually do) every year. If there is any money left in this account it rolls over for the next year.

I do not budget either. I just try to keep my costs down for the stuff that I can control, and most of the time I end up with extra left over.

We don't really budget either, just try not to spend too much on stuff. We do have a set amount automatically put in savings each week from dh's paycheck and try not to touch savings unless we really, really have to.
