CJ - You've inspired me!!Thank you !!
I had a huge long talk with Bruce from last night til this morning. I agreed to go to work part time so we could really establish an emergency fund and buy some things we want for the house like gutters and a TRANE heater and the sunroom. I agreed on certain conditions -
we pulled the graphs from quicken and I was able to show him that we spent $412 (accounted for ) on Beer. $306 on frivolous grocery purchases he made. we spent $197. on the animals (my deal). $470 on Gas (which included two trips to Loveland for over $500 worth of free fencing) Lottery tickets he buys with cash but I showed him where he withdrew $700 in cash of which I got $100 for Christmas and $40 for lottery. The rest he piddled away.
I agreed to work in exchange for cutting out the beer - I am quitting, he may have 2 per day. I won't a grain grinder for animal feed and I get to plant five acres in the Spring and prove to him how much I can save. If I can sell enough of my farm products and crafts by next fall I can quit my job and stay home full time.
I had the courage to do this because of you all here at the Village and because of CJ's inspirational "hurdle" as I guess we are now calling it.
Thank you for the spine and the direction! I love you all!!

Awe Kimmee, I know you can do this. You ladies are the reason I'm sharing our "hurdle" because if it can help even just one, its worth it to me.
Now your all making me blush.

Kimmee, I am so impressed with your new direction.
I'm also very proud of you quitting drinking. You will see it takes awhile to stop the urge completely but in the end it is worth it for your health and for your children. I am speaking from experience here so please don't be offended. I suffer with severe depression and even though drinking is a temporary escape from it, the damage it does to your health and your relationships is not temporary.
I think it is great that you want to "go back to basics" and I agree that CJ is an inspiration to all of us.
