To rags...
and more rags.
DH lost his job yesterday. His last day is the 30th. I am not sure what we're going to do. He is applying for unemployment ASAP. I am signing the DSs up for free lunches on Monday. I called my boss and told her I am available for extra hours.
Our wages will drop from about 3,500.00 a month to about 2,200.00 until DH's unemlpoyment benfits run out. After that, who knows?
We haven't told the DSs yet. I have had a headache for th epast twenty four hours and am not sure how to go about it.
Needless to say, Christmas will have a whole new meaning this year. We will be most concerned about heat, food and keeping our house payment current.
DH is getting severence pay so I am going to stock up on things we will need like TP, cat food/litter, dog food, Guniea Pig supplies, any pills we might need, etc.

I am so sorry, Lori - and doubly sorry that it didn't wait til after Christmas - its always so hard to explain to the kids. I hope he finds work soon . You have access to lots of wonderful advice here at the Village - I know you'll pull through!! I know its hard but things happen for a reason and try to look for the lesson or thing to be learned behind this (like CJ always says
) so try to reduce your stress so you can absorb the wonderful information and so you don't make yourself sick!!

I am so sorry about your DH's job. I hope that the unemployment picks up quickly and that he is able to find work soon. I know how stressful the situation is as we are going through close to the same thing. You and your family are in my prayers. I know you will pull through.~*Michelle*~

Sorry to hear this happened. My Dh was off with an injury from last thanksgiving until 1-5. Completely unpaid. I was absolutely astounded at the people that offered help or comfort with no whining or saying a word on my part. Stuff like Dropping of baking supplies, extra grocerys, a few extra gifts for the kids. I was astounded and touched.
I'm betting you'll find the same.
