"I won't be frugal here..."
Do you have anything where you are normally frugal but for one specific circumstance, you are not? (Bad phrasing, I know...let me explain.)
For example, with laundry, I ALWAYS wash in cold, use a minimum of detergent, do a short wash, 1 rinse, etc. However, Julia has pneumonia, Patrick and I have a cold, and Rob didn't shower after hockey the other night. So, I did all of our sheets this morning in the wash. I did a long wash in hot/hot, FULL cup of detergent, extra bleach, and a second rinse. I want those germs GONE, DEAD, KAPUT!
So, sickbed sheets are the exception to my frugal laundry rule.
Do you have any exceptions to any of your frugality? My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

We were talking about this yesterday.....there is absolutely at least one place I won't be frugal....
Anywhere my health is concerned. For instance my dd had her eyes done with lasik. My dneice mentioned that she saw a "sale" on lasik in the newspaper......we were all laughing going "what's wrong with your eyes Suzy? ..... well I got them done on a sale day......I can't see so well anymore". KWIM? Yeah there are times that I don't want to save much money....

Lisa, my dsil was saying the same thing about the discount Lasik surgery. She said, 'coupons are for Cheerios, not eye surgery",lol.

I will NOT go to the quick lube places. DH is a mechanic and I want someone who KNOWS what s/he is doing taking care of my car, not a nineteen year old kid who has never been under the hood of anything more complicated than a lawn mower! This isn't a put down of nineteen year olds, just a general observation.

I have a few areas I will not be frugal in:
~organic foods
~education (I rather live in a one room apartment and homeschool/send her to a good school then send Sophia to a poor quality school)
~health
~safety (we have a used car but it is a nice reliable model)
~environmental friendly cleansers

Sometimes it's frugal to buy your DH what he wants, instead of what's on sale: Dorito's are cheaper than a divorce!

ITA!
There are just a few name-brand products that I always buy-- I've tried the cheaper alternatives and just don't like them as well. For example, I always buy Cascade 2-in-1 dishwasher tabs-- nothing else seems to work nearly as well with our hard water. DH has to have certain kinds of razors, and I have to have my favorite shampoo. I usually stock up on our name-brand stuff when it's on sale, but, I could probably still get another brand cheaper. Most other things, though, I buy as cheap as possible~ whatever brand is on sale/ I have coupons on.
