One of the guys here who owns a lumber store wanted to sell his used tv. He mentioned to the guy dh works with on a casual basis he wanted $350.00 for it.

Instead of saying yes, he went home and got the Visions flyer that came in the mail. He found the exact same tv on sale for $125.00 less and brand new.

Needless to say, he didn't purchase the used tv.

Always make sure before purchasing used, that the price they are asking is less than what you can buy new. Never say yes until you've checked out the prices elsewhere.
