    Default My dollar bill plan

I've started a new thing this week Everytime i get or my DH gets a dollar bill in change we put it away in our change jar. So for after five days we have $14!!!!! That is such great news...the only down side is that that is a HUGE  % of our weekly spending. We did a few cut backs this week. Instead of being able to buy or traditional organic pizza for friday dinner ($5.99), we had spagetti, garlic bread and salad which was all much less expensive because we had the things at home already and I just need to buy the garlic bread for $1.65.

We'll see how this plan works itself out but so far so good. I'm putting all the money in my DD educational fund to pay for science class, music class are a leapfrog toy.

My cousin does this too-- only she picks a number and only saves the $$ with that number in it--- or ending in it. That is her vacation money.

I slip those bills into my change jar as well and it definitely helps elevate the number. It's a great way to save, though, and I find myself with less cash sitting in my wallet waiting to be spent (my biggest weakness - just having it around)....

Good luck! Mine is all going into building the EF up.

that is what I have done but up here in canada we have a $1 and $2 coin. so it is pretty much just change that goes into the jar!

I am going to do this way more frequently.

its toonie and loony (the loony because of the bird LOON, which is also on one side), the toonie because its 2.

ahh yes timmy's. Up unitl last month there was one at the bottom of the hill from our house. oh boy convenient. but they demolished it to expand the highway. boohoo.

They are planning on making a $5 coin int he next 5-8 years too.

I find it easier to save them cause it is just more change. lol

but also easier to spend. lol
