    Default Isn't frugality funny?

I have been practicing frugality for a few years now and my spending day went like this:

    Dentist appointment (I had a $30 coupon)

I went to goodwill and picked up a pair of pants and sleeper for DD. I saw christmas migs there that I wanted but they were asking 0.95 for EACH! So, I left them because I usually pick up mugs for 0.55 cents.

Then I went to enroll DD into a music school and dropped $200!

After paying for the music school I got back into my car and wondered how did I have no problem dropping hundreds on education but i would never pay more the $3 for a pair of pants and not drop a $1 for a cute mug...it's it wierd??

Maybe saving on all the little things gives us room to pay for the big things. I think if we were a two car family that ate out for dinner we would be able to afford the music school. Frugallity is a great tool to pay for the things you really want isn't it?

exactly, save money on the things that aren't as important or can be done without to save for the things you do care about.

ditto all the above. I think it's great you don't sweat the small stuff so you've got the cash for music lessons for your daughter. She will learn important lessons from you and they won't all be about music.
