    Default really cheap cloth diapers

I've been using cloth diapers on my kiddos and about 6 yrs ago I made a discovery, out of necessity. The store bought diapers are not very absorbent, not even the prefolds.I was in a great need for more cloth diapers, so I started to make them out of t-shirts and sweatshirts that someone had given us for rags. spread the shirt out flat and cut straight across just under the arms. shirts with no logos work best.anyway, turn raw edges in and zigzag all 4 edges closed. the sweatshirts are the most absorbent. you'll have to use quilter's pins instead of regular diaper pins because of the texture of the cloth. I've never had a quilter's pin jab a baby yet. you can use the leftover parts of the shirts to line the insides of homemade monthly personals.also shirts can be made into so many things, but that is another chapter. you can safely bleach these diapers if you need to.To stretch the life of the plastic pants..#1 don't use bleach,#2 try to line dry when you can,#3 patch the rips with duct tape (the good tape at walmart works best). the tape can survive machine washings and the dryer if you need it . I've been able to make a pair of plastic pants "live" for another 2 months after they rip. hope this helps.
