I totally agree with this article! I wish I would of saved when I was younger, but some of you know how that goes . After I pay this car off, I am going to put 1/2 of the money I put on the car on my mortgage and the other half in my savings. Like I have said before I am very frugal to the bone but I have come to the point in my life enough is enough. Only going to buy what is a necessity and make do with what I have. In the last year I have done pretty good, but I want to make pretty good to excellent! I am 46 yr. old and I must make up for lost time. I figure it's better late than never!

Matt&Roxy, you should be very proud of your $11.00. Wait until it is $1,000.00! We will have to give you a happy dance!

Rebecca it looks like you are well on your way on your emergency fund. I always say to myself . . . "Why didn't you start earlier? It's so easy!" But now I know better and keep on saving!

Great article Shell. I so agree with all tha she said. I wish we had been more open minded about NOT going into debt earlier on in our marriage. Now that we are out of debt I have a true sense of what we could have done already as far as savings. I don't dwell on that b/c there's nothing we can do to make up for it except to work hard on it now. The savings mindset is soooo important. You keep up the good work, keeps us all motivated.

Thank you PrairieRose! I am so excited about being able to finally save some money and I am even more excited if I can get other people to save some money for a rainy day. It is very empowering to have some money put away "just in case." And if an emergency never happens?? GREAT! You've saved some money!

    Everyone KEEP ON SAVIN'!
