Talking My grocery store is dropping prices

I just wanted to share this with you.

Several months ago, I discovered that my local grocery store was running a monthly draw to win $ 500 in free groceries. All you had to do was go online, fill out a survey and you would be entered in the draw. You could do this once a week. So I started doing it weekly. The survey was quite thorough and gave you the opportunity to tell them what you didn't like about the store for each department, where else in the neighbourhood you shop and why you chose to go there instead. Now we happen to have a speciality produce store with amazing prices on local produce in the summer as well as our Canadian discount store, Giant Tiger in the same mall but about twenty minutes drive from the local grocery store. I tend to shop there because they have great loss leaders and cheap prices on milk and bread. All these things we did not have in the local grocery store which was one of my biggest complaints.

While doing my grocery shopping the last couple of weeks I noticed that the grocery store is now offering their store brand at prices comparable or lower than the loss leaders I have been buying at Giant Tiger! Now the rest of their prices are still quite high but at least they seem to be listening to their customers. I am looking forward to seeing what else they drop prices on!

It's good to know that competition is alive and well and still working

It's so nice that they actually listened and did something for their customers!

Tell them you noticed and are buying more, that way they "learn" what works.
