    Default Hit the jackpot in the meat department!

    Our town has one grocery store -- Smith's, a Kroger affiliate.

    Today there was a great sale on meat. All except the rump roast were unadvertised:

    Spiral hams ($0.69/lb).
    Boneless rump roast ($1.99/lb)
    Boneless pork loin ($2.29/lb)

    I spent $56 at the grocery. Here's what I got:

    3 bags chips (snack for Mardi Gras -- today)
    3 lb bag of pretzels
    1 (marked-down) pkg of donut holes
    1 TGIF quesidilla pkg (snack for Mardi Gras -- today)
    3 bread bowls (snack for Mardi Gras -- today)
    1 pkg submarine rolls (snack for Mardi Gras -- today)
    3 lb pkg of prezels -- Mardi Gras snack

    4 spiral hams (total of 35 lbs)
    2 small pork loin roasts (4 lbs for both)
    1 boneless rump roast (3.5 lb)

    2 lb baby carrots
    2 lb salad mix
    1 jar sauerkraut

    The hams are usually around $2/lb, I think. Maybe $2.29. So, just the 4 hams, bought at regular price, would exceed the cost of EVERYTHING I bought today!
