Default You know you are finally frugal when....

......you use return envelopes for your bills for note paper, and write your grocery list on the back of the tear off pages on the desk calendar! LOL!

    What's your "light bulb" moment?

Your outdoor laundry line is strung with homemade cloth napkins and various rags since you no longer use paper napkins and paper towels. And the best part is that you hate the feel of those "flimsy" paper products anyway!

Debbie, I hear you, sister! I HATE paper napkins! We use one roll of paper towels about every three months. DH uses them to make his lunch on and to use as kleenex!

I have alittle cardboard dresser I boght for 1.00 that I keep all of our rags in. We use a lot of them, so I need a bunch of them for various uses.

I reuse shower curtain liners in my van to keep the bench and floor clean, and cut out the magnets to use when making fridge magnets for holiday gifts, LOL. I feel so frugal when DH is hopping into newspaper recycle bins to get my coupon inserts, and he yells "BINGO!" when he's found a bunch, LOL. He has his "lightbulb" moment when people comment on how nice our furniture is - and most of it was curb crawled!!

I was able to restock my wardrobe (after having lost a lot of weight) at a nearby thrift store by not only turning in most of my clothes (i'd say about 30 complete outfits) and getting about 15 free outfits (all interchangeable of course - which makes the number of outfits actually exponential!) ....

    BUT...

I was able to purchase the rest (so I got a total of 25 blouse/shirts, 4 skirts, 5 dress pants, 1 pr jeans, 4 prs shoes, 3 sweaters & a leather jacket for....

    (it'll blow your mind!)...

    :giggle:

    (get ready)...

I brushed my teeth for 2 weeks using empty toothpaste tubes.....I had been saving them and had accumulated about 5. I cut them open and there was literally enough toothpaste to brush for that long......

I bought a grabit dust mop a while ago and ran out of the dust clothes that come with it. Well I use wet rags to do a quick mop job on my floors. I don't have to carry around a bucket with me. That is my light bulb moment for now. Plus you know when you get bills in envelops you can't reuse, well I cut the corners off to use as bookmarks in what ever book I happen to be reading.

I felt frugal when I went to JC Penney for their 75% off clearance, and left empty handed, because I knew I could do better at the Goodwill. How cheap are you when $5.77 is too much to pay for a new shirt?
