Default Threadbare sheets and I am proud!

LOL! I have 2 sets of queen sheets I bought 12 years ago when we got our new mattress. All the old ones wouldn't fit over the bigger mattress, so I got these sets. They both got tiny tears in them and I mended them - long ago.

This weekend, we got one of those queen size blow up air mattresses to take on a couple of trips this summer. I threw one of my queen sheets on it, and because the air mattress is charcoal gray - I could see that the sheets are actually threadbare! LOL! I don't know that I have ever used anything until it was threadbare!

Well, I will be bargain hunting when I go to Pigeon Forge, TN in a couple of weeks to try and find 2 new queen sheets.

Is it 'odd' to be proud that you wore something out??? LOL!

LOL! I NEVER throw linens away until they are shredded then I usually find something else to do with them

I think that is something to be proud of too! You aren't "odd" in my book

We still have a set of sheets (double) that we got as a wedding gift almost 20 years ago. They are dog bedding now and only because we only have twin and queen beds in the house so had no use for them.

I'm proud for/with you Cheryl. I have just replaced my thread bare sheets of about 15 yrs. myself. I mended and hemmed mine several times.... . Was even kinda sad when I put the new sheets on the bed b/c the others were just starting to feel really well broken in.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

    They make great cleaning rags!

BTW, if you can't find any nice sheets on your trip, I bought very nice ones (new) on eBay.
