Smile My idea of a fancy, frugal Sunday brunch

Just thought I'd figure out how much it costs to eat our fancy Sunday Brunch at home vs. "eating out". I'm sure there are much cheaper alternatives, but we love this breakfast!

    3 cans corned beef hash...$3.00
    one dozen, large eggs...$0.75
one bottle of 100% grape juice...$1.90
    one raspberry danish...$2.00
    Total for brunch.....$7.65

For our family of five, we can easily spend $40-50.00(including tip) for a comparable breakfast at a family restaurant. Plus, it's faster and I think, tastier, to eat at home.

Anybody else have good, frugal brunches they'd like to share?

hashbrowns- made from whole potatoes @.99/10 lbs- using ~3lbs. so about .30

pancakes made from homemade mix--- .50

bacon-- puchased in bulk @.99/lb, using 1 lb

    scrambled eggs .69/doz , using 6 eggs .35

mixed fruit/frozen-- purchased in bulk at 5lb/3.00- using 1lb .60

OJ-- .79 for concentrate I mix myself

$3.53 total for 4 people. . . . maybe a bit more if I add syrup for pancakes. Still less than $5/total and it generally costs us over $5/person to eat it at a restaraunt.

I could cook breakfast here for a fraction of what it would cost in a diner or deli.

Four free range eggs from our chickens, 2 days old maximum, free, but let's say 5 cents for the feed.
Herbs for the scrambled eggs - parsley, chives from vegie garden. Nil.
Cream for the scrambled eggs - free - bartered with free range eggs.
Two black teas - 10 cents.
OJ, squeezed fresh - nil, bartered with peach jam with neighbour.
Toast from homemade bread 20 cents.
Butter for toast @ 20 cents.
Homemade peach jam for toast @ 10 cents.

That comes to 65 cents for two people. Eating out for breakfast would cost us a minimum of $5.95 each. But for my 65 cents I get a healthy, mostly organic meal that is tastier and I know what's in it.
