I will admit I'm the one who adds up what I got to the penny, lol. I hate when I have to fork over for others alcoholic drinks and such

I admit to itemizing, too. But I don't think it's fair to just split down the middle when I do my best to keep my order frugal...w/o whining about quality...roflmbo

I don't itemize everyone elses or go so far as to divy up tax......
Just what I owe for food...tax..split...no big deal and I pay my share on tip.

I will admit DH and I are guilt of the Card Card trick - but we never tell anyone what to put it, we just pass the bill around and everyone puts in what they think is fair. We usually leave about a 25% tip out of the cash and we usually make out ahead (not to the point where our meals are free, but it comes out to less than what we would have put in).

There is such a thing as separate checks as well. everyone's bill does not have to be on one check.
