Only in the middle of the month.
the one church that helps around here, you have to be a member and sign up a month a head even for emergency help. ( I have never figured out how you would know a month ahead )
We will manage it it just won't be what the kids will like very well.
I finally ran out of mac and cheese last night (LOL )
I just have to get creative and its been awhile since this creative.

Been right there with ya Holli. I'm sure you'll be able to make up something that the kids will eat. We'd have beans and fried potatoes a lot when the groceries ran thin. The kids loved that meal, never knowing how we were scraping the bottom of the barrel when we had it a few times a month.

Maybe if you post what you do have some of the ladies here will be able to help with some creative ideas to stretch it.

I went into super stretcher mode a few minutes ago.
I am making meatless spaghetti with homemade buscuits for supper tonight.
I have the stuff for a lemon merigune( sp ) pie and strawberry jello for dessert.
There is enough cereal for breakfast for the boys.
Ramen noodles for lunch ( both boys home sick today )
Tomorrow night vegetable soup ( found a rice mix that will flavor the soup ) and dumplings.
Guess they weren't as bare as they looked
    We will not starve.
Thanks Ladies for listening to my troubles. It helped

I've never heard of a church serving 'members only' and in advance, too. That stinks, imho.

Sounds like you got some good creative meals! When we are thin we do eggs and grits.

Sounds like you've come up with some great meal ideas. How about french toast for a lunch or supper, this is pretty inexpensive.

    Hope things get better soon.

My family loves waffles or pancakes or even eggs&fried potatoes for supper. They think it is a great treat not stretching to the end of the week. cau
