Question How long do you save receipts? And do you have a collection of 'good' receipts?

I am decluttering my junk today and ran across an envelope of receipts from last Novemember(the first month i seriously started couponing)
I guess I just don't know if I'll ever want to compare prices later or something like that..but how long do you keep old receipts?

Also do you ever save any of the 'special' receipts?
The ones that you felt you did a really good job shopping?

I used to put them up on the fridge..but not anymore..and I found two receipts in that Novemeber envelope I am SO proud of! So I think I might make something special to put them in, along with other receipts I am proud of...Does this sound like a silly thing to you? Would flylady be upset at me?

One of the receipts was 81$ after club card was scanned..and I brought my total down to 31$ with coupons PLUS I got a free turkey for 'spending' over 80$

Another one was the one that made my stomach literally pound as I saw my totals go down: 26$ after club card went all the way down to 1.87 after coupons! I even got two huge boxes of cereal! It was shocking to me back then to think I could even buy ONE box that big for 1.87 let alone the whole order!

Well I did throw out the rest of the receipts..but now I need to find someplace special for these receipts
Call me silly, go ahead..I won't mind!

I think it's great to save them. Scan them and send them to me for the website, if you can. I have a few others posted to inspire others.

I think saving them is a great idea. I think that anything you can do to make yourself proud, happy, smile, ect is very much worth the effort. Maybe one of those little photo albums, purse size, or something would be a good place to keep them. You could hide it away if you felt silly about it, decorate it with little happy stickers or something. Sometimes silly is the best medicine.

I think you should keep those great receipts too. When things aren't going well, it is great to have something to remind you of the positive things you have done. I have a box of cards I have gotten from students that help lift my spirits.

Definitely save them! On those weeks you get down feeling all the clipping of coupons and looking around for the best deals are a waste of time- looking at them will definitely be an inspiration. I don't know if you keep a price book, if you do, you could just tape them in the back. Congrats on all your awesome savings!!
