    Unhappy I got paid today

Golly, my paycheck is just sad. This is the one from when I was sick and off for quite a few days. It's not bad, but it could be better. I got paid $499.92 and the bank took out for bounced checks (still not sure how I did that! I had it all figured down to the dime! ATM card is GONE, I will not use it again!!!)

I took out $50 to pay myself first and I am going to cash a check for $170 for gas for the next two weeks, on the same day that I go grocery shopping, the day after I check the pantry LOL. And I am going to figure out the grocery budget, take the money out when I cash the check for gas and then keep it in an envelope in my purse... leave the check book at home and hide the ATM card. I'll of course have an emergency fund just in case I am out and need help.

I already talked to the staffing coordinator and she is going to set up next month as part time for me just so I can try it. One day will be doubles and then two days will be regular shifts. So I will work 4 shifts in three days... sleep in the car like I used to do so I I pay 1 day of gas for 3 shifts (GREAT deal!!!)

Off I go to clean house and go camping down at the creek!!!! WOOHOO

I am glad you have it figured out. You have a good plan with using cash instead of the ATM card. Then you won't be tempted to get more than you need.

I like the cash idea too. Just make sure you don't piddle it away on little things.

I find when I have my ATM card I spend more money than when I pay cash.

ATM cards always scare me....as well as debit cards. Looks too easy to forget a purchase and overdraw. Sounds to me like you've got the plan to make it work. Hang in there....it does get easier.
