Creative Frugality
One of the other ladies, cmu posted a very creative way to get the last of her laundry soap out of the bottle.
I think that this is one of the best ideas I've heard in a while! Anyone else have any creative ways to save money or get the most use out of your purchases? What other creative frugal ways can we come up with?Originally posted by cmu
I had DH tape 2 liquid laundry detergent caps together and punch holes in them so that when I used up all the detergent I could screw the newly used bottle on top of an old bottle so that I can drain all that detergent off the sides of the bottle. I now have about 5 washer loads that I otherwise would have thrown away.
Something I do, though it might not be considered "frugal" is use my plastic garbage can as a scrub bucket rather than an actual bucket when I scrub the floor -- it washes out the garbage can while I clean the floor!
Bright Blessings!

I do something similar to this, but not with laundry soap (I use powder). I will put a funnel into a ketchup bottle, liquid soap bottle, or other similar type bottle and invert an almost empty bottle of the same product into the funnel and let it sit until the top bottle is empty.

I actually turn an "empty" bottle of ketchup, shampoo, whatever liquid is in the bottle upside down on top of the other one, both without lids. I'll leave them sit until the top one completely drains dry.
I also cut my "empty" toothpaste tubes open. I use my toothbrush inside and scrape out the last of the paste. I can usually get about 5-6 more brushings that way. I store it in a ziplock in the drawer while it's cut open to keep it from drying out. I then rinse the ziplock and re-use it the next time I have an empty tube.

I rinse out the Laundry liquid Bottles & use that "mixture" for a few wash loads.
You might want to check out my recent "Double Duty" product testing thread, there is nothing more Frugal than making one product do the work of two or three

I also rinse out the Laundry liquid Bottles & use that "mixture" for a few wash loads and turn ketchup, BBQ sauce, etc. upside down on top of the other one so that I can get the last little bit out of the other bottle.
