Default My Bad, or, The Confessional

I'm really trying, but I guess we all backslide a little from time to time. Thought it might help to post my mistakes and keep an honest tally of they've cost over the month. Maybe the next month, I can improve. Anybody else want to join in?

My Bads for this week so far--

    • Had to throw out almost a whole head of lettuce, plus a cucumber, that went bad because I didn't use them fast enough. About $2.25 wasted.
    • Spent $7.50 on Chinese food at work when someone else was ordering. All I really needed was an egg roll for $2. About $5.50 wasted.

Twice so far this month, I've been too lazy to clean up after dinner & I left out the food. I probably would have had enough for at least one *full* meal. Or at least several lunches.

I have 2...count 'em....2 heads of lettuce that have been in the fridge for at least 10 days.....they're bad, I'm sure.

    I've been bad, too.

I like this thread......maybe I'll be more accountable.

I turned really rotten about three weeks ago; way past my due date for confession!!
Okay here it is . . . I bought a new tv and home theatre system, but didn't have the cash so put it on my cc to the tune of 730.00!
Our old tv was about 17 yrs old and the picture was green. Our home theatre was about one year old, warranty was 3 or 6 months (cheap Akai system). My sweetheart had bought it for us for Xmas '03.
I will have it paid off by December, but am still kicking myself (a bit - they are really nice). My original plan was to replace them in the fall, if at all. They are not necessities!

Since dh is off in another state working, I have been buying convenience foods for myself and the children. Frozen pizza, canned pasta - that kind of thing. It's not that it's much more expensive really (almost a wash out), but I sure don't want to get in the habit of buying JUNK!!!!

    Great thread!!! I love accountability.

~we needed new tires for the van. Rather than wait until they brought a full load in at the end of the week, I'm paying $10.49 extra to have them here for today.

~last night rather than taking a snack with us when we went into the city, I spend $16.47 on chips at Wendy's.

Tossed several items out of my frig that had been "saved" and then forgotten. 1 full bag of spinach that hadn't even been opened

Got lunch from the deli today when I could have packed it from home.

Instead of driving our Toyota Camry to the city, 50 miles away, we drove our Suburban. That was around $18 more for gas, than we needed to spend.

Well the last few days DH and I really went against our budget...

We have a lot of fresh fruits and veggies that are not so fresh anymore..have to throw them out...thats about $20.00

Put out Venison chops last week for dinner but our hours were so sporadic we never ate it...had to throw that out

I spent $160.00 on makeup, hairdye and clothes yesterday. But I did get a really expensive corset on sale for only 24.99 woot!!

DH spent $50.00 on a cd and computer game yesterday...I no longer feel guilty about buying for myself

Several fresh fruits & vegs (mostly strawberries) went bad in the fridge before we ate them. I hate when we don't eat what we buy!

Last night I bought 2 boxes of frozen chicken wings, rather than purchasing some in bulk, which have cost less. Two boxes cost me $19.98. I could have gotten bulk chicken for about $10.00.
