Just when I thought I was being frugal enough...
I will need to tighten the ol' belt and be even more frugal. But it will be a good thing.
As some of you know DH will be trying out a new job in Denver, CO. He will be going out by himself, on June 1st, for the 90 day trial period while I stay here in our apartment with our three kitties. The reason for this is so I can keep my current job for this trial period, to make sure DH likes the job and the area, but also there is a good possibility (about a 60% chance) that he will be returning here at the end of August to start his own business here in Vermont. So, on that note...
DH will be done with his current job on the 28th of April. That leaves us with one income for one month. He has a side job lined up before he leaves, which will be good money. He will need to get another used vehicle to get himself, his basic work tools, some clothing and camping items to Colorado. We only have one car at the moment and DH has been looking into used vans... He has the cash lined up for a good deal. It's all set. He will use it as his primary vehicle, to carry his stuff and tow a very small trailor. We have gone over many options and scenarios and this is the most economical way and which makes the most sense. If DH decides to come back the van will be used as his work vehicle to start his business and he will be able to write it off as a business expense or a moving expense. He will also have to pay for a temporary place to reside once he is there.
Since I will be here, working full time, I will be paying for our rent and utilities here. We normally share these expenses of course and DH will be sending me money for our other debts that need to be paid. But again, we have gone over many scenarios working it all out. I have plenty of money to cover everything plus still put money into savings and retirement.
Even though I have used most of my stockpile (so I don't have to move it), I will still be stocking up on Kitty litter, cat food, meat, rice, pasta, potatoes, laundry detergent, cleaning products, paper goods, prescription meds. and toiltiries for the Summer months to get me through. I will be shooting for a $20 a week grocery budget. Since I will only be feeding myself I will still make larger meals and freeze them into single portion sizes.
If DH likes the job and the area I will be going, but if not we will still have our "cheap" apartment here. My work will not find out about DH leaving unless we decided that I am going for sure. The less they know the better.
I hope it works out either way, but we are both a little nervous and I will need your support as every penny I have is budgeted. Please send good thoughts in that we can pull this off! Thanks!!

You sound very disciplined and frugal, seems like you have planned everything out so well.
I wish you were here to plan my summer budget!
I grew up in Colorado. It's grown so much since I was a little girl. But it's still a beautiful state with lots of great camping and outdoor activities.
Hope everything goes well for you two this summer.

You are all so wonderful!
You have no idea how much my life has changes since I have discovered Frugal Village. I know I wouldn't have been able to do this even a year ago! I have learned so much and made so many good friends here. Thank you!
