Default Even MORE Double Duty Frugal uses for.....

For "Spot Cleaning" marks from Clothing, Carpets and Soft Furnishings, I use Mens shaving cream! One tiny squirt foams up and is very "dry" soap, so doesn't over wet Carpets and such like

Dilute Vinegar 50:50 with water and put in squirt bottle, spray on Sofa (D Dogs favourite spot ) wipe off with a Mircro Fibre cloth and be shocked at the hitherto unobvious muck that comes off ( and I am a clean freak!!!)
*Test a small area of fabric first just in case of dye leakage!

Cleaning Bath "rings" around bath and Bottom of shower tray

"like attracts like" and a squirt of neat shampoo on a sponge or cloth will bring it off. (No need to rinse).

If you want a more shiny finish, then a tiny drop of Hair Conditioner will soften even "tough soap gunk"

I have even used body lotion to clean Bath rings too and it works very well!!, just wipe on, & rinse off!( or just buff with a clean cloth to save water!)

Save Water, by shaving Legs & pits with Hair Conditioner before getting into Shower ( rinse Blade in a small jug of water in between, each "swipe" )

For an even smoother finish and with no need to Moisturize after, use Body lotion to shave with, it softens and moisturizes as you go, so saves time, water and money (just rinse in the jug and wipe off excess as you go, when finished, clean up blade with an old toothbrush.)

To clean dirt from under nails: put cleansing grains/facial scrub on palm of hand and scoop under nails, brush with nail brush. - swop hands and repeat.
(For those who like to garden without gloves do this BEFORE you start and the dirt will come out much more easily.)

Use Body lotion as a deep hair conditioning treatment, wet hair and comb through about 1/2 ounce of body lotion, leave on for 5 minutes then wash out with shampoo - just once , dry hair normally. (I use Coconut body lotion for this as Coconut Oil is often used in hair products and hair and skin are very similar in their moisture needs ....)

Oh WOW Karen I love them all, but this one in particular I am trying soon.

For "Spot Cleaning" marks from Clothing, Carpets and Soft Furnishings, I use Mens shaving cream! One tiny squirt foams up and is very "dry" soap, so doesn't over wet Carpets and such like
    Thanks!

I heard Oprah likes to use baby wipes for spots on clothes.

I have used Baby Wipes for Spot cleaning too! BUT, the problem with them is they can dry out, if you have them a while, BUT, I have had the same can of shaving foam for YEARS

BTW, dh uses a Home made version of shaving cream that I make with my own fair hands

Karen, I like the vinegar/water idea too. I use vinegar to clean lots of things, but never thought of cloth covered furniture! Thanks for the great tips!

A friend of mine in high school (many many years ago) shaved her legs with lotion and it worked well for her -- she may still be doing it this way, who knows!

I'm not sure what went wrong when I used this method -- my legs itched horribly for days afterwards. I tried it several times and spent most of one summer in jeans instead of shorts.

My sister swears by shaving with lotion, I have tried it but prefer using either shave cream or soap for a quickie in the shower. I do slather on the lotion afterwards though.
