I could never stand ground turkey until I came up with my little meat loaf recipe.Originally posted by tightwadmommy

I had stale chips, no money and a very limited grocery selection (I was on unpaid bed rest during pregnacy and Dh got laid off). We were so sick of oatmeal and potato soup and PB toast!!!
Any ways brain storming we crushed up the stale tortilla chips, mixed in a lb of ground turkey, a small can of chopped tomatos and a packet of taco seasoning. Baked as a meat loaf. Who'd have thught it would become a family favorite?~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

I tried to sneak in the ground turkey one nite & sort-of mis-lead my family into thinking it was sausage..........it didn't work. That was several years ago & I haven't lived it down. Even *I* didn't like it.......maybe I'll try the meatloaf recipe & sharpen my "mis-leading" skills again.

Cheapest I can find hamburger is $2/lb & I'm in beef country!!

Boy I don't know about that! I did the big grocery shop today and went over by 16.00. I did save 14.00 with my cpns though. I laugh at the end of the recept though. It says you saved 33.41 today. Um no I saved 14.00 because I wouldn't have bought the other items if it wasn't a sale.~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000
