    Default Renaming my account

I've had a 'duh' moment. I realized that what I was refering to in my other post as an Emergency Fund was actually my "Freedom Account".

I think I now have a clearer picture as far as setting savings goals.

I now have have a goal of putting money away in two seperate accounts, one for EF one for FA.

My FA will have a set amount directly deposited into a savings account with an attatched checking account. That will cover the catagories I mentioned.

My EF will be a seperate sub account saved till I reach an amount to buy a 1 year cd every 3 months so that eventually I'll have a cd mature every quarter. That should be good for me because I really do have some job security (no one has complete security but I have 6 months sick leave and work for the gov't for 23 years so might be as stable for now as anyone, so not in a real rush).

I might also mention I do max my TSP (gov't version of 401K).

So, anyway, that's my plan of attack. Thanks for making me think this out by responding to my other post.

You've got it. What a perfect plan.

I think sometimes we forget about the freedom account because were so busy trying to get our emergency account built up.

    Great job!!
