    Default Talk about culture shock!

I did my first grocery shopping trip after moving here the other day, and all I can say is, WOW! Some of the prices are crazy!!
In Manitoba, I would pay $3.50, tops for 4 litres of milk. Here, it's $6.25!! Plus, it doesn't come in a plastic jug, like I'm used to, but the bags that you put into a pitcher. The kids thought that was so funny.
The other thing is meat--we used to buy a side of beef from local farmers, usually at around $2/lb, as well as whole chickens at $1/lb. We're hoping to find something like that here in a hurry, because paying the prices in the stores will kill me!

Thank goodness we were able to take all our dry foods and canned stuff, because just filling up the freezer again will take forever!

I'll definitely have to keep track of the grocery challenge from now on, and watch the flyers more closely!!

Happy bargin shopping Tracy. Locals'll be able to help you figure out where's the best place to shop for things. Have fun on all your new adventures.

Ouch that hurts. I hope you do find some help in scouting out the best places to shop. Wow...that's a lot for milk.

I have moved a lot -- and it always takes me MONTHS, if not years, to find the bargain spots. For groceries, as well as for other items.
