Talking How I didn't spend money today

Okay, I am making a scrapbook for DD#1's first grade teacher. I thought I had everything I needed, but came up short on page protectors and stickers. Well, I was going to head to AC Moore because I have a $25 GC. But, it is raining today and I just dreaded the thought of driving there and hauling DD#2 in the rain into the store.

So, I started scrounging around in my scrapbooking stuff ( of which I have too much!) and found some refills I had bought for another album that worked in this one! I had just enough to finish. Instead of stickers, I got out my rubber stamps and stamped the pages!

Got to save myself a trip in the rain, shopping with a 3 year old and I still have my $25 GC.

How have you NOT spent money today?

I got my haircut (cost me money....) went for the wet cut which is about $5 less. I did that not only to save the money but I never care for the way anyone else fixes my hair....so I came home and fixed it myself. The haircut was $15, not to bad and she does a great job. It's a girl here in town that I've used for ages and I'm always getting compliments on my hair.....lots of people drive to the nearest city which costs them gas money, eats, shopping....etc... not to mention the $50 for the same haircut

I worked half a day today and came home in time to take DD to the doctor's office. My friend offered to pick up a sandwich for me (to eat in the car on my way home) when she got her lunch~~ but then she forgot. (I thought it was funny, but she was embarrassed!) Anyways, instead I ate a pimento cheese sandwich and a can of soda from home for lunch, saving about $4 in lunch money. So really, my friend saved me that money.

I picked up tortillas at the store and we are having leftover chicken quesadillas instead of ordering chinese like I really want. And I restrained myself from buying clothes I really don't need, but really want for work this summer...does that count?

Of course not buying something you really want counts! I know all about wanting! LOL!

I stuck to my list at Walmart on my lunch and I ate burritos from home for lunch!! I also didn't purchase any soda from the vending machine.

    Downside of the day....
DH told me to pick up a ink cartridge for the printer. I had been holding out and printing from the office. Well I went on lunch and was going to get a ink cartridge $33 So then I got to looking at the printers I could get a new printer with 2 new cartridges plus photo paper for $32 Well you can guess what I did!! So the old printer will be going to the yardsale pile!!

I took DH's PT Cruiser in for some warranty work and a recall. NO $ out of pocket for all of this!

I talked myself out of going to the store. But tomorrow, there's no avoiding it.
