We don't.Steve and I was just talking about this yesterday. We haven't been on a vacation since 1999. We've taken day trips to the zoo, and the TN aquarium. But thats it.

We have a savings thru his work(have $841.00..see below) where $20 is put in every week and think we may save that as our vacation money.

I hate spending a huge amount on vacations.I always think that money could have bought something we need for the house,or to pay a bill etc.

We haven't had a real vacation in years, either. We just couldn't face putting the dog in a kennel, and would worry about how she might react to a pet sitter invading the house. So we've been doing day trips also.

It still takes some money, though. I have $150 budgeted out of our June cash flow and hope not to spend it all. One luxury we plan on is a dinner at Outback Steakhouse for our anniversary--that's $50 right there!

We do. Actually, today I will be making a deposit into it. I think a vacation is very important to my sanity, so I always make sure I have a vacation savings. lol

Yes, it's one of the components of our freedom account.

    No ,
We haven't had a vacation since we went to Ohio to see my neice and look for a place to live.
Didn't find one we could afford so ended up with this place instead.

No, we have gotten some free vacations through dh's job(perks!), or we have used cc's or our income tax return....I am with you Tammy, I always feel like the money could have gone to something more important...I also would rather just stay home and have dh just take time off

No - DH and I have never just taken a vacation. I just have a hard time justifying the plane tickets, hotels, etc. when we can have just as much a good time on day trips around here! I guess maybe I'm just a homebody.

Also, we're saving for a house and family right now - a little higher on our priority list.

We have a vacation account through work...not a ton goes into it, but enough for a getaway.

What's weird is we aren't using it for our trip to SC this summer. We can't take the money out until next April

I've always used the third check in July for vacation. I use the third check in December for Christmas.

DH finds vacations necessary. And they are certainly memorable for the kids. I hate 'em though -- just a lot of extra work for MOM!

But I put aside $200/month for vacations.
