Salvage store..How do you do it?
I found a great salvage store in the next town.(grocery). I spent $18. I could have spent more. I was jsut wondering what your strategy is for using salvage stores..Do you makea list and then check the salvage store 1st? Or how do you do it? Thanks..

I tend to really stock up on the things that are pricey in the grocery store and buy enough to last about a month. So I'll buy 15 boxes of raisin bran at a time. I also buy alot of something I know isn't very common to the salvage store if we really like it like the .60 a jar nutella.

I buy multiples of what costs me lots more at the gro. store b/c our salvage type places are not convenient for me to visit. So when I do go, I tend to really stock up on the "great deals".

Not sure what you meant by "salvage store".. Would Grocery Outlet and Sav-A-Lot fall in that category? Those two are where I do most of my shopping, especially since they are right around the corner.

Nutella is a choclate and hazelnut spread. Like peanut butter..but wayyyyy yummier. And it's normally about 3.50 in the stores...so .60 cents is a steal!

Hi Amy,
We have a salvage store here. I make a list and set aside so much money for the items I need from this store because I need to shop at other stores as well. I mainly stick to canned goods, pasta, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc. as usually their "fresh" stuff has a late expiration date. Be sure to check the expiration dates on some items.
