Any good deals in Michigan?
So, how many people on this board are from Michigan? I was thinking we could share our finds, and our thoughts on the best places to shop in Michigan. Most stores are chain stores, usually by region. I'm out and about all the time, but I don't frequent all of the discount stores. It's far too tempting!
I had a huge thread started, but then lost it all when I hit backspace.
So, I've just begun my price book. In the past, I've had a price book in my head.
Maybe we can start with the basics. Where do you shop to find the best deals?
Also, if you happen to find a really good deal on something, lets share our finds.
I know that Walmart tends to have the best deals on cleaning products. Borax at Walmart is $2.67, but $2.99 at Target.
It would be nice to create an online price book.
Here are some of the stores near me:
Target
K-Mart
Aldi
Kroger
Farmer Jack
Meijer
Walmart
Rite-Aid
CVS
Walgreen
Big Lots
Value City
Maybe we could share where the best thrift stores are, etc. . .
I don't get the local paper so I don't get all the ads. So, Michigan frugal shoppers . . . .where are all the deals!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, that is a good deal! Thanks for sharing. My mom just told me she paid $3.00 for a gallon of milk. I'll let her know.

Just checked out the Walmart ad online. School supplies were really cheap last week at Target and K-mart. I'm buying up ahead for my nieces. This year, they are getting a new supply of school supplies: markers, crayons, notebooks, activity books, etc. . . Things are so cheap right now!
Walmart has:
Crayola crayons for .25
Elmer's Glue for .20
Colored Pencils for .50
If your looking for socks, underwear. . . looks like there are some good deals this week on Hanes and Fruit of the Loom.

Michigan deals & Costco ??
Hi. I get my son's snacks for school from Big Lots. They have great deals on name brand food. (just be sure to check expiration date on package)
I live near Grand Rapids MI. We just got a Costco. Does anyone know about Costco ? I heard they charge a membership fee. I wonder if it is really cheaper. Please any info. you could give me would be great.

Hi Sue. I haven't been to Big Lots for awhile, but It sounds like I should check them out again. My girlfriend has a membership to Costco. I think the cost is around $35. I have a Sam's club membership. Sometimes, things are cheaper at Sam's Club. I've never been inside a Costco. However, they make homemade granola and it is fabulous!
