    • hamburger - 1 lb. 1.55
    • milk - 1 gal 1.99
    • dried beans - 1 lb .39
    • 2 cans diced tomatoes 1.18
    • rolled oats 1.50
    • salt .29
    • tomato sauce 1.00
    • 1 pk chili seasoning .29
    • chicken thighs @.69/lb,2 lbs = 1.38
    • l lb spaghetti .33
    • 1 jar mayo 1.59
    • l loaf bread .59
    • 2 onions .38
    • 10# potatoes 1.99
    • 1 lb carrots .56
    • 1 lb elbow macaroni .33
    • 1 extra large green pepper .65
      Total: $20

    $50.00 a month????

    On myself, I spend on average $40.00 a week on groceries which includes dog/cat food, cat litter and whatever else I might need.

    She was lucky she had people share their bounty with her or else she wouldn't be able to make that budget. A very interesting article.
