I brought my bottled soda and water with me today
instead of buying from the vending machine.
Not sure it saves much, but I get to keep my quarters for my quarter jar.

It does! We've started doing that too - plus I have started saving the cans for cash at the scrap metal plant.

Every little bit helps, especially over time as it will add up to some real savings!

It totally helps! NOt only do you spend less money by buying your own in paks or cases, but you also get to take the cans/bottles back in for a refund! If you buy from the vending machines, they always charge lots more for individual bottles.
Way to go!!!Tamara

It definitely helps and if you cut back even more on the soda, you'll find it saves even more. By cutting Pepsi out of our diet completely over the past 3 weeks, we've saved approx. $50. We both drank Pepsi alot. Were now drinking water.

I have done this too. These days I'm brewing a cup of very strong tea in our microwave just before lunch and making it into iced tea to drink with my brought-from-home lunch and into the afternoon. We are provided with tea bags in this office, so it is no cost to me which is even better.
And at home we've basically quit buying soda. Ever since my daughter's volleyball coach told the girls to drink water instead of soda, she's been a convert. This has helped tremendously.~~Jean~~

I bet your saving about $1.50 day bringing your own from home. So, that's like $45 a month.

There are some things in life I am not willing to give up. Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper are among them.Originally posted by homesteadmamma

I will search out cheaper sources of them, but they are not going away
