Default Diving deeper and deeper into frugality!

Of first it starts with leftovers. Then you've cut up your credit cards. Then you cut your shampoo, conditioner, detergent and soap in half. You've re-used your baggies until it looks like a colander. Have you noticed that you are now diving deeper and deeper into the "Frugal Zone?!!!"

What are you willing to do to get deep into The Frugal Zone?

Your wish is my command Shell.

I'm thinking that I'll be staying at home a lot more........ Since I'm already at home most of the time, this may not save that much but every little bit counts, right?

I'm staying home a lot more, too. I've stopped shopping (groceries) so often and nagging my family to conserve electricity.

We are walking to the store to get our small groceries. The big trip is fourteen miles away (yes, it's STILL worth the drive!), so we can't do that.

I have always grouped my trips, but am doing it even more now. I also will continue to use my Crock Pot to keep my energy use to a minimum.

I walk instead of drive and recycle everything. Right now I'm recycling flannelette (an old nightee) and ripstop waterproof nylon into homemade mama pads.

Dh and I are pricing out what it costs to go solar...

    Talking

    LOL!

Here's my most "Are you kidding?" frugal move - I'm very proud of it.

I shower at the gym, and because I can't see reusing a towel that sat in a stinky gym bag for a couple hours, we wound up with mountains of towels in the laundry at the end of the week. So I started taking two of the little hand towels they have for wiping down equipment, and I dry off with those after my shower.

We will be staying home more.
We have cut back on food out.
All laundry is hanging to dry. (except couch covers, They don't dry well on the line)
Alex is allowed one lunch from school every month.
Mike and I will be brown bagging it EVERYDAY if it kills me!
Majority of gifts this year will be HM.

    On the Gotta brag side.
I had been braggin' on my Diva Cup and Home made pads. Got 2 of my friends converted.

Yup getting even more frugal here too. However, there is only so much we as a family can do, its getting pretty lean and mean here.

We've started walking for anything we do in town. We've cut back to the bare bone. Now it gets really interesting to come up with new ideas. We are though which makes everyday now quite interesting.

    More line drying

Definately less 30 mile trips to town.

    Simpler meals

Took the kids from 3 hot lunches a week to one.

I switched to roll your own cigs last month and hubby finally converted. Savings are around $200 a month now.

We are working on getting a state permit for producing our own ethanol.

We hope to build a bigger house next year or so. We have started collecting construction materials as we find them. Used sinks, tubs, ect. Our purpose isn't a showcase but a nice servicable, larger, roomy house.

I had a frugal moment after deboning chicken. I boiled the bones with the scraps of meat I couldnt get off. I made chicken salad for Dh's lunch with it.
