Default What things do you do that aren't frugal?

I buy only boneless chicken breasts. After a 12 hour work day, I can cook those up in 10 minutes with the George Foreman.

I have a maid come in every week. It has stopped the fights over who's turn it is to clean the bathroom.

Shredded cheese. I just like the easiness.

    Okay I'll confess.....

I go to a spa often to get pedicures and haircuts. I just haven't had luck with getting my haircut for $10 and found that if I spend more I get a much better cut for my hair. Believe it or not it is hard to find a good hairdresser that can cut naturally curly hair.

I will also spend money on my favorite hair product....Bumble and Bumble - it's sold only in salons. It's a lot but I'm hooked.

We eat out often - at least 2 -3 times a week.

There might be more but I think that is enough for now.

We go to watch rugby virtually every week between February and September and more if there are international matches. My teams home games are a 100 mile round trip for us every two weeks. We also go to the large majority of away games, which can be 200+ miles round trip. So it costs a lot in petrol and admissions.

We also have satellite tv which costs about £400 a year so we can watch rugby too.

I like a really good bottle of wine. Not good like triple digits a bottle good, but I'm willing to pay 30-40$ for a nice bottle.

My hobby. Spinning and dying wool. Now, I'm trying to make it pay for itself by selling the wool, but it's expensive and not necessary. I justify my little obsession by thinking that if I sell enough of it so that it pays for itself *and* brings in a bit of a profit that it makes it a bit frugall-er

We have a satellite system that costs us about $39/mo. . We eat out too often, at least once a week sometimes more. I use my dryer to dry 90% of my laundry. I take my poodle for a haircut and bath every month. That alone costs me $24/mo. I could stretch it out to 6 weeks but I like it better monthly.
    There, I feel better now.

We keep a fairly high electric bill b/c I like the temp between 71-73. We eat out about once, sometimes twice a week (usually Thursday night is pizza night b/c DH plays poker.)
I buy salon hair gel and shine serem...but it lasts for like 6 months at a time.
I buy quite a bit of scrapbooking supplies when Im able, but try to buy when its on sale.
Im sure there's more, but Im MUCH better than I was a year ago...I use to be a shop-a-holic.

My Diet Pepsi habit. I've stopped stocking it at home, so when I'm out or at work, that's my treat.

I spend a good bit on my supplements and higher quality food, but to me, they're a necessary health care expense and non-negotiable.

Party-lite candles. I strongly dislike MLM but I'm a candle junkie.

*I buy fabric for quilting and clothing as long as I will use it, it's on sale (or have a coupon) and I have the extra cash to pay for it at the time. I can get by pretty cheap . It gives me so much pleasure to sew and quilt and I will not give that up.

*Paper towels- I feel guilty sometimes about using paper towels, but we have three cats and they like to leave hairballs and I just cannot get myself to use anything else for the clean up.

    * Jif peanut butter. This is the only kind DH really likes. I buy it for him and buy the store brand for making cookies, candies for Christmas etc.

    * All natural face products from our Healthy Living market. I have super sensitive skin and am allergic to a lot of popular products on the market. I use very little and it will last me a long time.

    * Contacts and glasses. I like to look nice in my glasses and I will save the cash for new ones even if that means I have to wait another year for a new pair that look good on me. I am due for a new pair as these are over three years old, but I will have to wait until I get the cash.

    * I still use my dryer for towels and sheets, but use the minimum amount of time for them to just become dry. That means I am checking the dryer often to remove the lint and pulling out the dry stuff as soon as I notice them and not leaving them in longer with the rest of the damp stuff.

Where to start, I'll try to make it short:

Partylite candles/accessories; however I usually get items when I host a show

    Eating Out (bad, bad, bad)

Vacations Once a Year (I see it as somewhat necessary for Mental Health Reasons)

Premium Cat Food (kitty has bladder problems without it)

I agree that you should enjoy your life. I am frugal, but I think we spend on what's important to us. We're not in debt and we try to be resposible, give as much to others in need that we can.

That said......we do eat out more than we should. Kind of a losing battle. We've also been spending quite a bit on fixing up the house, which I must say is, nice.
