Default I finally managed to do it

On Friday I set down and made out a meal plan for 15 days. When I went shopping, I only bought the things that I needed to make those meals for the 15 days. I didn't have to buy alot of it because I already have it bought up.

With me doing this my grocery bill went from $100 a week to $78 per week!!!

I would like to get it down to $60 per week, but not sure how realistic that is with a family of 4.

    Great job!!

You probably can get it down to $60 per week if you stock up on some good loss leaders, purchasing only the loss leaders you will use.

I can't wait to see if you can.

Good for you, doesn't it feel great to know you saved money and have things planned?

It does feel great!! I am thinking that the amount I saved this week to put it into my savings account and at the end of the month use it towards a bill to get paid off...

I am working really hard at it...me and my husband want to start trying to conceive our 3rd and last child in January..but I said that if the bills that come out of my pay aren't paid off we were gonna wait and I really don't want to wait..

    That is my motivation

You did really well. I'm sure you'll get that weekly bill down to $60 now that you're meal planning. Keep looking for those good grocery bargains.

Thank you for your encouragement. My husband and I have wanted to pay off our debts for a long time and we really didn't know how to start.

I thought this would be the first step in getting to our goal.

Way to plan ahead! I hope the menu works for you like it does for me.

Sounds like you have a reason to be motivated.

I sure can. I mainly just planned dinner at night. I already had breakfast foods bought up and my husband always eats leftovers for his lunch the next day.
Here are a few that I remember off the top of my head...I will have to pull my list at home and see what else is on there.

    Pizza Casserole
    Spaghetti
    Cheeseburger Pie
    Meatball Subs
    Baked potatoes and salad
    Pizza with salad
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and frozen veggies
    Clam Chowder with Tuna Melts
    Hamburger Helper
    Chili
    Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup
    Taco Salad
    Hamburgers
    Hot Dogs

I always buy hamburger meat in bulk and then divide it out and freeze it so I already had the hamburger meat on hand. Plus alot of the other things I needed to make these dishes I had on hand.
