Grrrrrr... Brrrrrrr...
Grrrrr....So, my van has been making a funny sound lately, but I've been doing my best to ignore it. As of last night, I could no longer ignore it because there was now a weird feeling when I would brake. So, I had to bring it in this morning and sure enough...new brakes were needed. Sooooo...just when we thought we could have a little in savings...$400.00 out the window. Grrrrr...
Brrrrr....It's October for crying out loud. Yet, it's below 50. Dh stayed home with dd on Friday because she had a really bad cold (she's got a little Stevie Nicks voice going on...kinda cute). Apparently the temperature in the house went down to 53. Considering they were home because she was sick, he turned the heat up to 63. It's not much, but still, I had NOT planned on turning on the heat in October. It wasn't on all day, but still. We had to turn it on again this morning just to take the chill out of the air. Only for a bit, but still...how annoying! We've got the extra blankets out and everyone is in layers. I'm NOT keeping that heat on full-time!!! Brrrr....My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

We've had to have the heat on a few times too, this is rediculous!
Sorry about the brakes, that never comes at a good time, does it?

We're upon our costly months over here for just expected bills. I wouldn't want a surprise like needing new brakes too.
Sorry you had to have that repair done. Hoping Julia is feeling better soon.
We've had heat on quite a few times already here in MI. We're putting the plastic on the windows tomorrow. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Sorry your little one is not feeling well. Hope she is better quickly. Hang in there. It is always the unexpected stuff that puts me over the edge. Cars, children or animals! They usually get me one way or the other!

I'm fortunate when it goes to brakes, my dh can do those kind of things.
I've had the heat on a few times. I'm just grateful it has only been a few times. I kept it down to 65 today, but my dh raised it to 68 to warm up the house, and then tonight I turned it down to 67.

Sorry about the van.
We've had our heat on several times already. I guess the warm weather is pretty much over for us too.

I'm sorry about your van and hope your hubby and daughter are better soon. My husband has got a stinking cold caught off baby Anne who caught it off her middle sister Emma.
We've had the heating on a couple of times but I'm trying to keep it at 66 or lower.

We're still running the air conditioner!!! Actually, we've had a cool front pass through, and it's not so hot right now!
But it's surely not time to turn on the heater!!

Sorry, I forgot to say that I hope Julia feels better soon and that your car is okay now. I just experienced some car issues too, and I know how stressful they can be.

i live in nc and the temp this morning was 38 and the high is supposed to be 62.
According to the weather we are supposed to have a high on Tuesday of 48. I can try to save money most ways but heat is not one of them. With my Fibro and hypothyroidism I stay so cold. i do try to wear extra cloths and cover up so that it doesn't have to be as high as i would really like it to be.
Hope the little one is getting better.
Also please forgive the little i's---my left shift key has quit working.Jeanna
