Frugal maternity clothes
Hello,
I'm pregnant!!!! Due date Juy 3rd. My goal is to get everytihng we need off freecycle...I have 9 months to collect...should be doable! However, I do need a few very nice mat outfits for meetings that i will need to attend for the non profits I work with. Any ideas on where I can get frugal great looking mat clothes? And yes this is my second child and yes, I gave away all my mat clothes when se had colic and I promised myself NEVER AGAIN in a fit of sleep deprivation...lol.

Congratulations, you're a lucky woman
I've seen affordable maternity clothes at www.chadwicks.com. If you have Marshalls in your area, they recently started carrying Maternity clothing. Ebay is always a good resource for clothes. You might want to try www.craigslist.com. That's a few for you.

get pretty, oversized dresses. then go into your craft store or craft dept and buy: elastic, wide fancy ribbons, and alligator clips. thread the elastic thru the ribbon which you sew up along the sides to form tubes. tie the elastic to the clips. clip these to the back of your pretty dress. these will gather the larger size to make it fitting with out being smothering, and will allow for growth as baby belly expands.

I got 90% of my maternity clothing from freecycle or the thrift stores. I bought one pair of jeans and a pair of capris from Motherhood. Old Navy also has maternity clothes but look out for the clearance. Just like the other stores their maternity clothes are way too expensive. Oh - and I always found VERY good deals on maternity at Target (clearance).
Congratulations on your new addition. I hope you are feeling good!!

I bought some of my nicest things at the Motherhood outlet store. Honestly my favorite things were hand-me-downs from other family/friends though. Good luck!

Congratulations Melina!
Here are a couple of ideas on how to get some nice maternity outfits:
In my area there are numerous consignment clothing stores that carry maternity clothing. Some very nice things there!
Ask all of your friends who have children if they will loan their maternity clothes to you. Sometimes even a friend of a friend can come up with something.~~Jean~~

Freecycle, thrift shops and family/friends are my best suggestions. My clothes are from when I was pregnant with Julia and the rest are hand-me-overs from my two sisters-in-law. I agree...silly to spend money on something you only wear for a few months.
And, congratulations!!!
