The Cheapest Person I Know
I don't know if anyone has posted this but AOL has a message board where the topic is who is the cheapest person you know. There are hundreds of posts and I'm sure we'll each recognize ourselves in some of these. You'll need to go down and hit the Personal Finance forum and then go under the Tightwad section to find this topic. www.aol.com

I'll check it out, but I don't consider myself cheap or a tightwad. I'm not extreme...just a smart shopper. I'm just working on leading a simple life and becoming financially free.

Shopgirl, I don't consider myself cheap or a tightwad either, but apparently the people on this board do, as they've listed quite a few of the things I do as being cheap. I'm laughing all the way to the bank!

Thanks for clarifying. So far from what I've read on the FV threads, you didn't seem cheap, that's why I wondered. Well, I guess we're all at different levels in our journey in frugality.

The cheapest person I know would gladly take advantage of friends or family for her own benefit. We Villagers are not like that!

Some of the people described are smart, frugal folks. Others are simply dishonest thieves.

I used to know somebody who whould bath and wash his clothes around his mums to save on Electricity and he would go to bed when it was dark. If he wanted to watch a program that night he would set his timer, watch his program then go straight back to bed. He would also pilfer small things such as milk, pens, wall clock (things that I know of) from day centre and work.

Interesting.
Some of those people were just smart. Others, like the popcorn guy, are thieves....

Well, I don't know if this will work either, then, but let's give it a shot:

Yes, I agree. I particulary liked the person that hauled away a demolished house and used it to build their own. The popcorn guy is just plain gross! It sounds like something a 13 year old boy might do. I don't consider taking pens, etc...from work being frugal; it's theft.
There were some other interesting articles that were worth reading on the page.
