What is your favorite recipe from TWG?
I have only tried the breakfast puff thingy, and I thought that was pretty good. A little too "eggy" for my taste but not bad overall.
So what is your favorite?

I think the things I have used most often are the Cuban Bread, the hot chocolate mix (the next-to-the-most frugal recipe; the most frugal just didn't do it for us! :-) ), the muffin master recipe, maple syrup, and the tomato paste tomato soup recipe--we spark it up by adding a couple of tablespoons of homemade pesto after it's heated through. Another cookbook we found very helpful in cooking frugally (and using up leftovers!) was the More With Less Cookbook by Doris Longacre. (I believe it's a Mennonite publication.)
Peace, Valerie

Taco-Seasoning Mix. I like the recipe because it doesn't have sodium in it that the store brands have in their mixes.
6 teaspoons chili powder
4 1/2 tea. cumin
5 tea. paprika
3 tea. onion powder
2 1/2 tea. garlic powder
1/8 to 1/4 tea. cayenne pepper
Mix all the ingredients, and store in an airtight container. The homemade mix is twice as strong as the store-bought one, so add only half as much

I use the yogurt recipe routinely, and am doing the muffin recipe this weekend.
I second the rec on the More with Less Cookbook - it's my favorite!

I'd love to see this cookbook. I was unable to find it at my local library or any in the consortiaOriginally posted by crunchycon

I got really lucky and found it in a used bookstore. You may be able to get a used copy inexpensively through Amazon as well.

Yeah, I looked there too. There are only a couple that are less than buying it new, and they're only $2 or so less. I'll put it on my wishlistOriginally posted by crunchycon

I like the granola and universal muffin recipes. We've also used her chocolate syrup recipe as a regular here. And her specialty coffee mixes. They aren't as good as the storebought ones, IMHO, but they are cheaper. I've also made her universal quiche, but it didn't turn out as good as my usual quiche recipe.
We've used and liked her stuffed baked potatoes too. In fact, I quit having them because the family liked them a bit too well...2012 Challenges
