Question How easy is it for you to find bargains where you live?

I usually have to travel to the city (1 hour away) before I can find really good bargains. Our small town only has a Co-op, hardware store (2) and a variety store (liquor, movies and magazines).

I don't have to drive that far.
I have to drive about 15-20 min. in either direction. Our closest store is Bruces Market (the famous RAOK store ) it is about 15 min. away. It does have a discount bin and a discount veg. bin.

Tricky sometimes. I need to travel about 20 min to find good deals. It's been hard lately due to gas prices to justify driving to those places (when we have other places here in town) to get a bargain. Now that the gas prices have come down some, I am really out bargain hunting. I hate crowds, though, so I try to do all my shopping during the day during the week--especially now that the holidays are upon us.

For grocery bargains, I sometimes hit great meat markdowns 1/2 mile away. Other than that, it's 20 miles -- and I don't find super bargains.

Of course, the SHARE co-op (www.sharecolorado.com, if you don't know what I'm talking about!) delivers 1 mile away! So that's a bargain.

But, really, I'd have to drive 100 miles to hit a base commissary -- and get consistant low prices!

    Now, for thrift stores, I'm luckier -- a half-mile away, there's a great one!

Sometimes it's hard. Most stores are all within a 15 minute drive but it seemed in order to find the great deals, I always need to be shopping.

It seems to me more of the bargin deals are not in flyers, or maybe I just don't get the flyers. I don't have the time or energy to shop all the time and even if I did, I not sure that with all the driving and buying extras because I'm in the store, that my bargain would truly be a bargain, KWIM

It's pretty easy to find bargains. I live in a metropolitan area so there are a multitude of shops. I'd estimate things are 15 minutes away from me. The grocery stores and pharmacies are all on my way home from work. So, I try to combine errands whenever possible.

Where I live we have several thrift stores here and most of them are only about 5 minutes where I live.

I live in the burbs so it's not terribly hard. But I'm surprised by the number of people in my area who don't even try.

I can sometimes finds grocery deals or at the one small gift store we have, after Christmas I always find great deals on high end Christmas ornaments and decorations at 1/2 of 1/2. Otherwise I have to drive 20 minutes for *some* good deals or an hour for the abundance of good deals.
