Julia and I are playing board games out the wazoo today, while she rests and takes it easy to get over her most recent cold. We just finished playing a game I picked up at a garage sale last year. The Allowance Game. What a great game for teaching kids about saving and spending money. Julia (4 and 1/2) at one point said, "I don't like giving away all my money!" That led us into a discussion of how that's why Mommy and Daddy sometimes say "I don't think that would be a good choice to spend our money doing that." She also said at one point, when she had landed on "Buy a toy, spend $1.60", "Geez, how many toys do I need?"

Anyway, if you've never seen or heard of it, check it out!

(Sorry for an e-bay link...it's the only place I could find the game we have, but if you google it, there are a variety of similar games...all the same in theory)
