Hi everyone--- home after braving the crowds today. . . 8 hours of shopping, but I'm mostly done now, except for a few little things for Deana and Doug.
Marty braved the stores with me too- and had more fun that me, I think.
I was surprised at how few people were actually out and about. . . We were the only ones on the interstate headed to Springfield this morning-- Circuit City was WAY crowded, and the West side Walmart-- but every place else was deserted! I never had more than 2 people in front of me in line to check out. . . never had to search for a parking spot (thank goodness, as it's freezing out there!). . . . some of the things I was looking for, were sold out-- but the shelves were overflowing for the most part.
Walgreens-
huge Hershey candy bars (those giant ones) 8/$2
3 phone cards 125 each- total cost $10 (buy one get 2 free)
Meijer's
Got Doug's only request this Christmas! digital camera. . . normally $129 doorbuster sale for $47.99 whooo hooo!
Office Depot- got my mom a printer/scanner/copier/fax/PC fax - after rebate $29.99 Yeah! she'll be thrilled. . . she's been so down, since her scanner died
Then we hit a local closeout place- called Dean's. . . . got too many things to list, but I had 4 huge bags of things for less than $30
I'm still doing ok on my Christmas budget, and I'm nearly done!

I went to Yonkers and got a set of flanel sheets for Alex. for 17.97
a Bobby Jack sweat shirt for 11.99
the same candt Sunshine got
A niffty knitter for Alex for 9.99
the movie Robots for 5.99
all in all I think I did pretty well.

I didn't go out until after 2pm. And even then I didn't go anywhere near Walmart
I went to the PX. I bought the three-handset phone that they had for $59.99 after rebate. We really needed a new phone. Our current phone's buttons hardly work. Plus, we have digital phone & only one modem. So that means only one phone. The triple handset means I can have three phones all over the house. Good thing, I'm always close to breaking my neck running for the phone on the other end of the house
I also got a jacket for my dad $10, a dvd for my dad, and 25sqft rolls of wrapping paper for 69c each.

I wasn't planning on going out, but needed to return some jeans. I ended up getting boots instead of exchanging the jeans. Then I saw Meijers had artificial trees on sale 40% off, soooo I finally got a new tree.

DH and I ventured out at 4:30 this morning to hit Goody's and get the $10 gift card. We each ended up with one and purchased 2 pairs of US Polo jeans and 2 polo shirts. DH had to do a transaction and I had to do one. Together we spent $20.xx.
One pair of jeans were for Richard, one for Richard and the shirts were for Dakota.~*Michelle*~

I went to Walmart at 3:00am I got my laptop 378 & digital camera 88.!!I was 2nd in line for the laptop. Santa was good to me!!
But the crowd was kinda wild!! They called the manager twice to the electronic dept and that was before 5 when the sale started. The people in line for the gameboy things were arguing and causing a commotion. He threatened to throw them out of the store!Bridge

I had thought about going to WalMart for the Care Bears with DVD's but since I had to work and since I hate crowds I decided to sleep in and get up in time to make it to work

What was so special about the Care Bears with DVD? This seemed to be a hot item. What is the original selling price on those things?

Here they are $14.99 regularly but were $5 the first few shopping hours on Friday.....so you could get 3 for the price of one if you were out and looking for them.Originally posted by kaykwilts

Looks like everyone got great deals. I did as I said I would. I stayed clear of the stores this year. I didn't go into a single store, because I didn't want to spend the money. DH & I are saving up for a storage building and depending on how much we save by the end of Dec. will determine the size we will be able to get and I just going to hold off for that

I went to Walmart Friday morning with my dd in tow. Surprisingly our Walmart wasn't very crowded at all. I bought a sweater for $7.00, a mini food chopper for $4.00, a 3 peice set of p.j.'s for dd#2 for $10.00. Doesn't seem like much but I am one of those people who get up and go out every black Friday because, I actually love the adventure and people. I could have slept in this year but I would have missed spending time with dd#1 who is now 20 and busy with her own life. So I decided we would start a new tradition just the two of us. We did have a great time together and decided it was worth getting up for and will be going together for a few years to come.
