Dilute the regular Downy and just put a drop or two of Jasmine essential oil in bottle? Body and Bath Works sells essential oils cheap at their semi-annual clearance sale in mid-January.

Thanks for the tip about Band and Body Works' having a mid-January sale -- I'm going to check it out!
Thanks for the input, everyone! I want to give it a try! My boys don't seem to spend as much time deliberately getting dirty, so....

if you are line drying, put vinegar in a downy ball and use that for fabric softener. i haven't had luck with it when using the dryer, put it helps when line drying.
i dilute liquid downey in a spray bottle, 1 part downey, 3 parts water. then i have 3 thin wash cloths that i use as dryer sheets. a few sprays on one washclth and toss it in teh dryer. set aside a couple of washcloths to use just for this purpose as teh fabric softener will eventually make it so the washcloths won't absorb water.
never add fabric softener to the wash cycle when washing towels. they will get coated by the softener and after awhile, they won't absorb water anymore.wife to carl
