    Of course, not eating out is the cheapest way to go. But, if you must eat out here is some great ideas:

    That older survey had people spending lots back then, imagine what it's like now. I can't fathom people eating out that much,wow. They surely haven't been getting much of my money.

    Since we eat out a lot, I just wanted to add a few suggestions:

    1. Order appetizers instead of meals. Splitting two appetizers and one dessert is a lot cheaper than ordering two meals.
    2. Really keep an eye out for coupons - around here both Denny's and Friendly's put out coupons in the Sunday paper.
    3. When anyone asks what you want for Christmas, let them know where you eat out and say that you'd like a gift card.
