Things are a bit scary
at dh employment. We'll actually go without a paycheck next week. Nice thing to find out a few days before christmas. And of course I splurged on a nice holiday dinner ;-(
We have some $ but 9 months worth..NO!
My goal for this year is to trim everything down and save..save..save!!!!!!!! I am scared but praying this is just a temporary set back.
Sorry, I just needed to vent my anxieties.

I'm sorry this has happened to your family. I hope too that is a temporary setback. Good idea to reread Cj's thread about getting through tough times, her strength, determination and positive attitude is an inspiration to all. Hang in there & I'll be thinking of you.

I am sorry that you got this bad news right at Christmas. I hope all works out for you and your family. There is a ton of information and inspiration here in the Village, I know that you will get through this fine. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone.
Dh and I sat down and went through our bills. We are financially better off than I thought. Of course not getting paid isn't a great feeling but our bills are paid. We figured out that we can make this weeks check stretch and not have to take money out of savings or our little emergency fund.
Also our little (just starting to build) stock pile is going to help us.
I'm happy the little bump in the road is something we can handle.
Also, it makes me want to be able to put all I've learned to work for us so if the bump turns into a hill we can manage that too!
Thanks again, Happy Holidays

happymommy, I think this bump will help you learn a lot of useful things that will come in handy over the next year. Don't stress out over this. You've got your bills covered and food on the table so just enjoy the Christmas season because I think it will be one you'll remember for a long time.
I look forward to reading your future posts and I wish you a very happy holiday.

I was where you are now last Christmas. I was scared to death. DH was not worried, but I was freaked out because I was sure we'd be out on the street. Thanks goodness it didn't come to that.
Tighten your belt and think frugal thoughts.
