Yay me!
Did some banking yesterday. We had a couple of checks for Christmas, my little bonus check and a couple of mystery shopping checks. I deposited them in the bank. I paid American Express off and a magazine sub bill that was due. I then transferred $50 to savings. I think I will be able to transfer more, but I want to wait until everything clears to be sure. Granted, we only have $204 in savings, but that is $204 more than we had a month ago!

Cheryl it's great you were able to put some money into savings.
I'm curious though - in the States can you still have a cc after filing bankruptcy? You mentioned American Express. In Canada, you can't for 7 years.

American Express carries no balance - it has to be paid in full each month. There is no finance charge, but there is a monthly fee. I had a couple of presents for DH on there. Since it carries no balance it was not included in our bankruptcy. Comes in handy when making reservations etc.Originally posted by homesteadmamma

Cj you can't apply for a new one and I think that if you stay current with the ones you already have you can keep them but I could be wrong. The law changed recently and credit card balances can't be included in bankruptcy anymore.
