Question about used cell phones ...
Hi everyone! A friend of mine is trying to find the most frugal way to replace her cell phone that isn't working (she have the sim card, etc) -- it is T-mobile. I know we have to look for a T-mobile specific cell phone, but we were overwhelmed when looking on ebay. A couple of questions:
1) What does "unlocked" mean?
2) Would it work to get a T-mobile prepaid phone and then slip the sim card into that??
Is there anything else we should watch out for when looking for a used cell?
TIA!Annie

Unlocked means its ready for service.
I would look for an unlocked, T-mobile specified phone.
If you need more details, send me PM. I have a friend who repairs cell phones and knows all the ins and outs and if you have a specific ? I can usually get an answer from him on what is a good recommendation.
