Thread: My first thrift shop visit

I love going to the thrift store. It took awhile but I finally had to tell myself to only buy things that were new or looked new.
One thing to keep in mind is that since it is going on summer time that the winter clothes will probably be cheaper. So you might want to do some planning ahead.

All the thrift stores CLOSE to my house are nasty and full of qwap! But if I travel a little bit away there are great thrift stores with great stuff.
I have a friend that has an eBay store (men and boys clothes). He buys exclusively from thrift stores and resale shops. He knows his market and knows what will sell. He makes a decent profit on most everything he lists, BUT occasionally he hits a home run and buys something for a couple of dollars and sells it for $75-$100.
I have another friend that is a flight attendant and he found some HIGH quality shirts that flight attendants/captains wear. Even the captains on his planes know quality when they see it and asked him where he got them. I just tapered them a bit and he was SO happy!Mary
I won 2nd place! Made it to the top 4 finalists for the ultimate biker makeover!

Congrats on the great buys!!
Oh yes, another thrift store 'convert'.......you will be hooked.
Especially the first time you find something with tags still on it and it is cheap.
You too will have a thrift store list.......as I do....don't leave home without it!!!

Awesome. I must say I'd be naked and so would my family without thrift stores and yard sales. I was at Goodwill Tuesday. I found my daughter 5 beautiful summer blouses..one with tags on it still and all name brand. The one with the tag on it would have cost more than I paid for all of them. I found a gorgeous cabinet and a pretty carnival glass blue bowl with feet both in perfect condition too.

Lately I've been curbing my Thrift Shop visits and spending, just because of my own finances, and also because I want to put my Thrift Shop Wardrobe in order. There's so much to do with it before I buy anything more.
But without Thrift Shops, I would never have been able to afford clothing and all the other things I need for my household.

I'm a 3rd generation thrift store addict. U can't beat it and for little kids between goodwill and our local kids consignment shops there is really no reason to buy new
